St. Nicholas students corral stuffed animals

St. Nicholas Catholic School kindergarten teacher Sheila Allworth and students Colton Ernst, Devon Murphy, Rigby Snapp and Julia Malcolm, above, pose with stuffed animals they collected for children in need.

St. Nicholas Catholic School kindergartners and fourth-graders recently sponsored a stuffed animal drive, making signs and performing skits at a school assembly to promote their drive.

The students collected more than 320 stuffed animals and small toys at morning drop-off, which they donated to the nonprofit Peace Builders. The organization includes the stuffed animals with its shipments of support items – medical supplies, vitamins, clothing, shoes and other aids – to orphaned and impoverished children around the world, with a focus on war-torn and disaster-stricken regions.
