St. Simon Parish School has scheduled an event aimed at educating parents on drug use among youth 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the school, 1840 Grant Road, Los Altos.
The discussion will feature Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Officer Katie Krauss of the Los Altos Police Department. Her presentation will include current trends in tween/teen drug use, identification of popular drugs, signs of drug use, prevention strategies and an opportunity to view various drugs and paraphernalia firsthand. A question-and-answer session will follow.
The program is designed for parents whose children have graduated from the police department’s D.A.R.E. program. High school parents are invited to attend.
Admission is free. RSVPs are requested but not mandatory.
