MV Police investigate sexual battery incident

Mountain View Police are searching for a male suspect in his 20s who allegedly groped a 20-year-old woman July 13 at Pioneer Memorial Park.

According to police, officers responded to an emergency call from the Mountain View woman, who said the man grabbed her from behind while she was walking home on Church Street. After a brief struggle, the suspect fled the scene through the park. He remains at large.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male approximately 25 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build. He was wearing a dark shirt at the time of the incident.

July 14, 11:27 p.m., West El Camino Real and Grant Road: Police pulled over a 19-year-old male motorist for speeding and arrested him for driving under the influence after he failed a field sobriety test. The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Residential burglary

July 15, 11:40 a.m., 1000 block of Alegre Avenue: An unknown suspect entered a home through an unlocked rear sliding-glass door and stole jewelry and electronics.
