Los Altos Police Thursday released a sketch of the male suspect believed to be responsible for robbing Comerica Bank last week.
A police artist drew a depiction of the suspect after interviewing a witness at the scene of the April 11 robbery at 275 Third St. The witness reported seeing the suspect remove a black mask as he escaped.
Police described the suspect as a Caucasian male age 30-35 with brown hair and a mustache. He is estimated to stand between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and weigh approximately 210 pounds.
Brandishing a black handgun, the robber, wearing a mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, approached the teller at approximately 11 a.m. After demanding and receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller, the suspect fled the area on foot.
The same bank was robbed a month earlier, and police said they are investigating whether the crimes are connected. They are also reviewing any possible links to two armed robberies of Standard Liquor on First Street and one of two Bank of the West robberies in downtown Los Altos earlier this year.
The Los Altos Police Department requests that anyone with information that could help identify the suspect call 947-2770. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call the anonymous tip line at 947-2774.
