Los Altos Police Thursday (April 18) released a sketch of the male suspect believed to be responsible for robbing Comerica Bank last week.
Police said they were able to create a sketch of the suspect after interviewing a witness at the scene of the April 11 robbery at 275 Third St. The witness reported seeing the suspect remove his black mask as he escaped.
Police described the suspect as a Caucasian male age 30-35 with brown hair and a mustache. He is estimated to stand between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall and weigh approximately 210 pounds.
Brandishing a black handgun, the robber approached the teller at approximately 11 a.m. He was wearing a mask, a black-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. After demanding and receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller, the suspect fled the area on foot.
The same bank was robbed a month earlier and police said they are investigating whether the crimes are connected. They are also looking into any possible links to two armed robberies of Standard Liquor on First Street and one of two Bank of the West robberies in downtown Los Altos earlier this year.
Anyone with information to possibly identify the suspect is encouraged to contact the Los Altos Police Department at 947-2770. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can provide tips on the anonymous tip line at 947-2774.
