Los Altos' beloved annual tradition of Halloween window painting returns to downtown for the 49th year this weekend.
More than 80 youth, from 4th-grade through 11th-grade, will take to the sidewalks of Main Street, State Street, First Street and Second Street with tempera paints in hand to create colorful designs on the storefronts of local businesses.
Window painting begins 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and continues 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m Saturday. Spectators are encouraged to show their support for the young artists by stopping by to watch them at work.
On Sunday morning a panel of judges from the Los Altos Recreation Department and the Los Altos Village Association will review the completed window fronts to select winners in each age division.
