Vladimir Ivanovic withdrew Monday from the Los Altos School District Board of Trustees race.
He said he opposes the candidacy of Amanda Burke-Aaronson, a Bullis Charter School parent who is supported by charter school leaders.
“If Amanda were able to run for the BCS board, then she might be a huge asset to this community,” Ivanovic said. “But on the LASD board, her conflict of interest is too high for her to do her best for the district.”
Ivanovic added that he supports Pablo Luther and Steve Taglio for the school board.
“Since my continued participation in this race would only serve to enhance Ms. Burke-Aaronson’s prospects, I’m urging supporters to vote instead for Pablo Luther and Steve Taglio,” he said. “I’m comfortable doing so because both Pablo and Steve have voiced support for many of the ideas and approaches I’ve advocated.”
Ivanovic said he plans to continue to support the Los Altos School District in any way he can.
“Regardless of the outcome of this race, I’m offering my services to Pablo, Steve and the rest of the LASD board in whatever capacity they may see fit,” he added.
