As of today, Californians can register online to vote. The California Secretary of State's website now features a brand-new digital application form – added just in the nick of time for this November's election.
California State Sen. Leland Yee's SB397, passed into law last year, required the state to add this feature. In the last presidential election, 44 percent of eligible California citizens voted.
United States citizens who are over 18 years old and reside in California are typically eligible to vote, but more than 6 million remain unregistered, according to Yee's office.
