Felony warrant arrest
July 10, 6:50 a.m., North San Antonio Road and El Camino Real: During a traffic stop, officers determined that a male motorist had two outstanding warrants out of San Jose stemming from probation violations. Officers arrested the driver and booked him into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
July 11, 8:44 a.m., 1100 block of Covington Road: A resident notified police of a trashcan on fire on the Blach Intermediate School campus. Responders extinguished the fire upon arrival.
Child locked in car
July 11, 3:54 p.m., 100 block of State Street: According to police, a child was accidentally locked in a vehicle. Fire responders on the scene broke one of the vehicle’s windows to rescue the child. No charges were filed.
Arts & Wine Festival tows
July 13, starting at 5:47 p.m., various downtown locations: Seven vehicles in violation of a 5 p.m. parking deadline were towed from various designated parking locations downtown, including five in the Central Plaza parking area at Second Street.
Drunk in public arrest
July 14, 10:39 a.m., Miramonte and Portland avenues: Police arrested a male subject after determining he was too inebriated to care for himself. Police booked him into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
Attempted residential burglary
July 10, 1:01 p.m., 600 block of Riverside Drive: A burglar kicked in the front door of a Riverside Drive residence but quickly fled after being confronted by a 13-year-old boy at the home. The 13-year-old resident reported the incident to police, who determined that no items were stolen from the home. During a subsequent sweep of the neighborhood, however, police responders discovered that a home across the street was burglarized, with the door kicked in and several electronic items – among other things – stolen.
