The St. Francis High School community is in shock after learning that one of its students was allegedly murdered by a relative Monday (June 4) in Lake Oswego, Ore.
According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old Nicholas Brian Juarez and his 71-year-old grandmother, Saundra Sue Wallace, were fatally shot by Juarez’s uncle, Adrien Wallace (pictured), age 41.
St. Francis Director of Communications Holly Elkins told the Town Crier that school officials – who she said were stunned by the news – have been in contact with Juarez’s family and plan to release a statement soon. Elkins noted that Juarez was a member of the school band.
According to a probable cause statement posted on Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office website, Adrien Wallace confessed to shooting and killing his nephew and mother as they tried to leave Saundra Sue Wallace’s residence at approximately 8:15 p.m.
According to multiple media reports, Wallace was arrested without incident that night and has been charged with two counts of aggravated murder. He was arraigned on the charges the next day.
