Bullis Charter School issued a response accepting the Los Altos School District’s final facilities offer, but taking the opportunity to also say they were “disappointed” with its “deficiencies.”
On April 1, the school district offered the charter school space at its current site on the Egan Junior High School campus for its K-6 students and additional space at its Blach Intermediate School campus for the schools seventh and eighth graders.
“Bullis Charter School is disappointed that the district has failed to cure the deficiencies that are in the district’s preliminary offer of facilities,” the May 1 letter, written by charter board member Janet Medlin, stated. “Unfortunately, the district introduced new deficiencies in the final offer.”
Bullis Charter School officials and parents have said that splitting the school’s K-8 program between two campuses is not “reasonably equivalent.”
The charter school will be headlining this week's Santa Clara County Board of Education meeting – learn more here.
