TheatreWorks' 'Chosen' enters 2nd week in Mtn. View

TheatreWorks continues its 40th anniversary season with Chaim Potok’s uplifting tale of fathers and sons, faith and family, "The Chosen." The play opened last week and is scheduled to run through Nov. 1 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

"The Chosen" cast features Bay Area theater veteran Corey Fischer, West End favorite Rolf Saxon, up-and-comer Jonathan Bock and Thomas Gorrebeeck and Michael Navarra in their TheatreWorks debuts. Aaron Davidman, artistic director for the Traveling Jewish Theatre, directs.

Warmth, wisdom and generosity illuminate the unlikely friendship of two teenagers from different Jewish communities.

Performances are scheduled 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 25, and 2 p.m. Nov. 1. Tickets are $24-$62.
