Charles “Chuck” Michel, loving husband, father and friend passed away on May 5th, 2011 in Mountain View, California. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Sue, their son Charles Michel, daughter Anna Michel, nephews Mark Sorensen and Eric Sorensen, special cousins and extended family. A long-time resident of Los Altos, Chuck was born in Portland, Oregon in 1933 and a graduate of Oregon State University. He enjoyed playing golf, swimming, camping, and traveling and enthusiastically cheered on the Oregon State Beavers in all of their sports.
Chuck was a member of the International Food Technologists for over 50 years and during that time worked in the Food Industry in Technical Sales and as a Sales Manager. In the past several years, he was also a member of Sons In Retirement.
Chuck served in the Army and was interred at River View Cemetery in Portland, Oregon, May 10th, 2011 with full Military Honors. He loved his state of Oregon.
A Memorial Service was held on May 12th at Union Presbyterian Church where he had been an elder, deacon and long-time member. He participated in many short-term mission trips and enjoyed serving on the Missions Committee.
