Resident of Los Altos Hills
Dorothy Elizabeth Evans (Miller) peacefully passed away on April 9th at her home in Los Altos Hills at the age of 95. She was born in San Francisco November 29, 1915, raised in Fairfield, California and attended U.C. Berkeley where she majored in History and Political Science. Although she graduated in 1938 with teaching credentials, she worked in the insurance field for over 35 years. During those years she met and married George M. She is survived by three daughters: Mary Ann Evans, Linda Lee and Sarah Filsuf and four grandchildren; James and Elizabeth Hibbard of Morgan Hill, Darius and Tara Filsuf of Los Altos.
Dorothy loved gardening, cooking, spending time in nature, and music. She played several instruments including the piano and clarinet.
Dorothy was the last granddaughter of Carlyle Smith Miller, a pioneering settler of Northern California, who came to California during the 1849 Gold Rush and settled in Petaluma, eventually becoming a leading citizen.
Our dear mother will forever be in our hearts and memories.
