Ardelle passed away on June 28, 2009 at the age of 81. She was born in Tacoma, WA and resided in Los Altos for the past 43 years. She was a graduate of San Jose State, Class of 1950 and a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She worked as a supervisor in the Annuities Department of Standard Oil of California and was one of the first women to be promoted to a supervisory position. She was active in the PTA and Los Altos Auxiliary. A lover of animals, particularly cats and dogs, she supported and donated regularly to many humane societies.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Doolittle, daughter Stacey Norcutt and son-in-law Dean Norcutt of Scottsdale, AZ, sisters Betty Jeanne Waters of Woodinville, WA and Vivienne Wardle of Austin, TX.
At her request no services will be held but donations may be made on her behalf to The Santa Clara Humane Society or The Breast Cancer Society
