MVHS schedules college essay film
Students and parents are invited to view the documentary “In 500 Words or Less” 7-8:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in Mountain View High School’s Spartan Theatre, 3535 Truman Ave.
Attending college is a rite of passage for many American high school students, but the process can be daunting: college fairs, tours, SATs, applications and then – the personal essay. The film addresses the dilemma of how 17-year-olds can define themselves to total strangers when they are only beginning to discover who they are. And how do they do it in 500 words or less?
The documentary follows four very different students as they embark on journeys to college. The students in the film spend their last year with their families trying to figure out who they are and who they want to be.
Admission is free and open to the public.
