Garden party for SF Symphony
The Mid-Peninsula League of the San Francisco Symphony will host the Symphony in Flowers Garden Party and Twilight Concert on June 13, featuring the garden estate of Anaflor Smith, 240 Cinnabar Road in Woodside Hills.
The event will include a tour of the garden estate created by landscape architect Thomas Klope of Los Altos, and a woodwind concert by members of the San Francisco Symphony. Wine and catered gourmet cuisine will be served throughout the tour.
Tickets to the event can be purchased for $125 per person by calling 802-0725. Tickets will not be sold at the garden estate door.
'Customs and Costumes' exhibit
The History Museum's current exhibit "Timeless Weddings: Customs and Costumes" will run through Sept. 12. The exhibit showcases 100 years of wedding gown and ceremony history, featuring representative costumes and accessories from the 1890s to the present. This exhibit provides a glimpse of the fashions of the times and cultural influences that shaped trends of the past.
The museum is open noon to 4 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays, and is located at 51 S. San Antonio Road, Los Altos. Admission is free. For more information, logon to www.losaltoshistory.org or call 948-9427.
Salute to mayors scheduled for Saturday
The Los Altos Chamber of Commerce's 21st Salute to the Mayors Banquet will be held Saturday at the Los Altos Golf and Country Club, 1560 Country Club Drive, Los Altos.
This year's event honors Los Altos Mayor John Moss and Los Altos Hills Mayor Emily Cheng.
A presentation of the 12th Walter and Marie Singer Award for Business Volunteer of the Year will be made to Louise Spangler.
No-host cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7:30 p.m., followed by dancing. Black tie is optional.
