Police are looking for a man they believe walked into the US Bank on Fremont Avenue in Los Altos and walked out with an “undisclosed amount of cash” after presenting a note to the teller claiming he was armed, according to a police spokesman. No one was injured and no one saw a weapon in the incident, which took place approximately 1 p.m. Monday, October 24 at 1001 Fremont Ave.
The man fled on foot toward Miramonte Avenue after putting the money into a black messenger/laptop bag, Shearer said.
Police are working with a number of different agencies, including the FBI. Shearer said if the suspect is convicted he could face jail time and federal prosecution, as is typical in bank robberies.
