The city of Los Altos has scheduled a public hearing to discuss findings and recommendations in the most recent traffic study for streets surrounding Blach Junior High 6 p.m. Tuesday at Los Altos High School's Eagle Theater, 201 Almond Ave.
The study, performed by Fehr & Peers Traffic Consultants, recommends city staff remove the "No Blach School Drop Off" signs behind the school after completing a series of capital improvements to Altamead Drive and Carmel Terrace, including creating new bike/pedestrian pathways and possibly creating a median to delineate a physical drop-off zone for cars.
The report also recommends installing a traffic signal at the Miramonte and Covington stop to alleviate delays and improve pedestrian/cyclist visibility.
