Nov. 18, 8:15 a.m., 2211 Via Maderos: A resident contacted police and turned in a personal firearm for destruction. Police also provided the resident with information on how to sell personal firearms legally.
Nov. 19. 8:20 a.m., 5050 El Camino Real: Raymond Thorton, a transient, was arrested without incident after a misdemeanor warrant was issued for trespassing, according to Los Altos Police Capt. Andy Galea. Thorton was booked into Santa Clara County Jail.
Nov. 20, 2:42 a.m., 1070 Mercedes Ave.: Police responded to a report of a suspicious person loitering. Upon arrival, officers checked the area but failed to locate the individual. No report was taken.
Nov. 20, 9:39 a.m., Foothill Expressway and Starling Drive: A female motorist’s car spun out and struck a guard rail at Foothill Expressway and Starling Drive, according to Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Peyton. Petyon described the driver, who suffered a broken arm, as in her 40s.
Nov. 20, 10:59 a.m., 100 Portola Ave: An unknown suspect spray-painted several classroom doors on the Egan Junior High School campus sometime over the weekend, according to Los Altos Police Capt. Andy Galea. No arrests were made and police had no additional information about the incident.
