Ex-felon arrested for weapons possession
Los Altos police arrested two San Jose residents during a vehicle stop Monday morning – including a man with a prior conviction found in possession of a weapon.
Police arrested 28-year-old Antonio Enrique Rojas on multiple charges, including driving on a suspended license, providing false information to police and illegal possession of a stun gun. In addition, police arrested 34-year-old passenger Octavio Villa on an outstanding drug warrant out of Santa Clara County. Both men were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
According to Los Altos Police Sgt. Scott McCrossin, the arrests occurred after patrol officers stopped a BMW driven by Rojas at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Arboleda Drive at 10:43 a.m. When questioned by police, Rojas allegedly provided officers with a false identity. Police later learned that Rojas had a prior felony conviction for assault with a deadly weapon. Possessing the stun gun, police said, violated Rojas’ probation terms.
Police arrested Villa after officers discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.
