Jan. 28, 9:23 a.m., 1200 block of Brentwood Street: An unknown suspect entered a home construction site overnight by cutting a lock. Tools and other items were stolen.
Jan. 28, 3:21 p.m., 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue: A resident contacted police after learning that an unknown suspect stole a mail package containing personal checks she recently ordered from her bank. The resident declined to file a police report.
Jan. 28, 5:41 p.m., 1500 block of Colleen Drive: A white van pulled up to a residence and a passenger leaned out of its window and removed mail from the mailbox.
Jan. 29, 7:55 p.m., 1000 block of North San Antonio Road: A resident called police to report that a panhandler in the area was behaving aggressively toward pedestrians. Upon arrival, police admonished the male panhandler, who then left the area.
Jan. 30, 10:31 a.m., 300 block of First Street: A downtown business owner contacted police after discovering that someone hacked his Yahoo email account while he was out of town, which led to the unauthorized transfer of more than $600,000 in funds. According to police, the hackers in question posed as the business owner, used the email account and contacted his accountant, requesting two wire transfers totaling approximately $640,000 to settle fictitious merchandise bills.
Jan. 31, 10:57 a.m., 4500 block of El Camino Real: Police admonished a transient who blocked the doorway of a business.
