Police seek owners of stolen bikes
The Mountain View Police department is asking for assistance from residents who may have been the victims of a bike theft.
Following the Jan. 25 arrest of a suspected bike thief, the police department recovered several bicycles believed stolen by the suspect. Police are asking victims to help identify any of the recovered bicycles as their property. Proof of ownership – such as a purchase receipt – will be required.

Jan. 21, 4:54 p.m., 2200 block of N. Clark Avenue: An unknown suspect entered the home by prying open the side door to the garage and stole laptops, an iPad and jewelry.
Jan. 22, 11 a.m., 2200 block of Homestead Court: Police recovered a vehicle in San Jose originally reported stolen from a Homestead Court residence Jan. 19. No suspects were arrested at the time of the recovery.
Major injury accident
Jan. 24, 7:31 a.m., Foothill Expressway and Arboretum Drive: According to police, a 14-year-old student was struck and injured by a vehicle while trying to cross Foothill Expressway. The student sustained a puncture wound to a leg and was transported to El Camino Hospital for treatment.
Misdemeanor warrant arrest
Jan. 25, 8:11 p.m., 600 block of Hollingsworth Drive: A female resident was arrested, cited and later released after police discovered she had two outstanding traffic warrants totaling approximately $5,000.
