Dec. 14, 3:57 a.m., West El Camino Real and Grant Road: Police stopped a 30-year-old male motorist for driving at speeds exceeding 80 mph and later determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
Dec. 14, 12:56 to 2:35 p.m., 2500 block of Deodara Drive and 1700 block of Granger Avenue: An unknown suspect stole mail packages left on the front porches of two homes. Police believe the same suspect may be responsible for both thefts.
Dec. 15, 4:47 p.m., 400 block of Cypress Drive: An unknown suspect stole six packages left on a home’s front porch, plus other mail.
Dec. 17, 9:14 p.m., 100 block of South Clark Avenue: An unknown suspect stole a package containing a toy piano valued at $100 from a home’s front porch. Police, who noted that the theft occurred sometime between noon and 7:45 p.m., later found the packaging strewn in front of a home on Springer Terrace.
Dec. 17, 9:35 p.m., 300 block of Verano Drive: An unknown suspect stole a package from a home’s front porch between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. The victim declined to file a police report.
Dec. 15, 12:23 a.m., South El Monte Avenue and Foothill Expressway: A 62-year-old female motorist crashed her MINI Cooper into a light pole and was transported to Stanford Hospital with moderate injuries. Responding officers determined that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. She was cited and later released from police custody.
Dec. 15, 1:54 a.m., 100 block of North San Antonio Road: Police stopped a male motorist under the age of 21 for a moving violation and determined that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was cited and later released from police custody.
Dec. 15, 1:13 p.m., 1100 block of Covington Road: An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger window and stole an iPhone from a vehicle.
Dec. 17, 12:30 a.m., 600 block of Distel Drive: A male motorist crashed his Bentley into a tree located in the middle of a cul-de-sac. Police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
