May 2, 4:08 p.m., 2000 block of Robinhood Lane: A resident contacted police after discovering that someone unsuccessfully attempted to transfer $160,000 from the resident’s bank account. The victim’s bank stopped the transaction and notified him/her of the incident.
May 5, 2:57 p.m., Foothill Expressway and San Antonio Road: A motorist reaching for a pack of cigarettes was transported to Stanford Hospital with leg and hip injuries after his car veered off Foothill Expressway and hit a tree between El Monte Avenue and San Antonio Road. County fire department responders had to cut the trapped motorist out of the vehicle at the scene before he was transported for treatment.
Commercial burglary, arrests
May 3, 8:25 p.m., Los Altos Rancho Shopping Center: Police arrested two 18-year-old females on multiple charges after they attempted to steal alcohol from Andronico’s Market. According to police, the two suspects dropped several bottles of alcohol and fled the store after being confronted by the market manager.
An officer responding to the incident then spotted the suspects in the center’s parking lot and ordered them to stop, but they left the area by car instead. Later that evening, an officer saw the suspects again along Filip Road and arrested one of them after a brief struggle. Police arrested the second suspect without incident. Police found the suspects in possession of 29 bottles of alcohol and prescription Xanax pills. One suspect also possessed marijuana at the time of her arrest. The suspects were charged with burglary, evading police and resisting arrest.
