Los Altos Hills City Manager Carl Cahill confirmed that he has advanced to the final round of interviews for the city manager position in Castle Pines, Colo., a community of approximately 10,000 people south of Denver.
Cahill has served as Los Altos Hills’ city manager for the past eight years.
In response to the Town Crier’s inquiry, Cahill acknowledged his possible departure but noted that he’s not packing yet. He said the potential transition is about his professional aspirations, not any reservations about the local community.
“Every now and again a career opportunity comes along that seems really worth exploring,” wrote Cahill in an email to the Town Crier.
An article printed July 18 in the Castle Rock News-Press reported that Cahill had advanced to the final round of interviews. Cahill and two others emerged from a pool of 24 candidates to qualify for the final interview process.
Cahill said he informed Mayor Gary Waldeck and members of the city council when he made the list of finalists for the position.
Cahill was scheduled for an interview in Castle Pines Aug. 2. A final decision is expected this week.
