“A Place of Magic,” Salvatore Ventura’s photos of the Baylands Nature Reserve, is on display through June 1 in Palo Alto.
The art exhibition “A Place of Magic” – photography of the Baylands Nature Preserve – is scheduled to run through June 1 at the Environmental Volunteers’ EcoCenter, 2560 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto.
A reception with photographer Salvatore Ventura is slated 1-3 p.m. April 27. Admission to the exhibition and reception is free.
After moving from Europe to the Bay Area, Ventura said he discovered his love for photography and nature, honed by California’s picturesque landscapes. Over the past decade, he has explored various photography styles – from natural landscapes to personal portraits – and documented several area events. He eventually discovered the Palo Alto Baylands, which he described as “a place of magic.”
The exhibition is scheduled 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
All works are for sale. Proceeds benefit the Environmental Volunteers. Through hands-on science education, the organization promotes understanding of and responsibility for the environment. Members train volunteers to teach natural science to children in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties through classroom lessons, day camps, nature walks and field trips.
