Two local authors are scheduled to read from their works and answer questions about their writing processes at a Los Altos/Mountain View branch of the American Association of University Women benefit luncheon 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Michaels at Shoreline, 2960 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View.
Allie Hawkins has published two romantic suspense novels, “Presumed Guilty” (Wild Rose Press, 2011) and “Unraveled” (Wild Rose Press, 2012). Under the pseudonym Barbara Plum, Hawkins also wrote two romantic comedies, “Prince of Frogs” (Zebra, 2004) and “Queen of the Universe” (Zebra, 2005).
Deborah Michel, a former magazine editor and freelance writer, has worked on a long list of publications. She recently celebrated the release of her first novel, “Prosper in Love” (Berkley Trade).
The event will include a silent auction featuring goods and services donated by local residents and businesses.
Proceeds will benefit the association’s Educational Opportunities Fund, which supports lifelong learning for women through fellowships, grants and scholarships.
Admission is open to the public.
