The Rotary Club of Los Altos’ Partners for Elder Generations has scheduled its second “Encore! Investigate Your Passion and Get Involved” event 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 23 at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road.

The interactive event for adults 50 and older will focus on careers in the second half of life and enrichment through volunteerism. Encore! will feature more than 25 nonprofit exhibits, lunch and a panel discussion on encore career opportunities.

Sándor Tarics, 99, the oldest living Olympic gold medalist, will be the featured guest. Tarics participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympics as a member of the Hungarian water polo team and played on the national team through 1939.

A lunchtime panel discussion, “Encore Careers – Making An Impact,” will feature Julie Cates of ALearn, Patrick Guerra of Second Harvest Food Bank and Susan Weeks Coulter of the Global Film Initiative.

Admission is free, but reservations are requested.
