The League of Women Voters of the Los Altos-Mountain View Area has scheduled “Charting Healthcare’s Future,” a luncheon featuring El Camino Hospital President and CEO Tomi Ryba as guest speaker, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Michaels at Shoreline, 2960 Shoreline Blvd. in Mountain View.
Prior to leading El Camino Hospital, Ryba was president of United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. She previously served as chief operating officer of the UCSF Medical Center, where she led the development process that included construction of an integrated women’s, children’s and cancer hospital. Prior to UCSF, she was president of St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach and COO of Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Ryba earned a master’s degree in health administration from Chapman University in Orange and a bachelor’s degree from UC Riverside.
When the San Jose Business Journal recognized Ryba as one of its “100 Women of Influence, 2012,” she said her five-year goal was to “leverage the talent and mission of El Camino Hospital, to partner with others to influence the health status of the Silicon Valley … the goal being to improve quality of life to the fullest extent possible.”
The program is open to the public. Tickets – $25 per person – include lunch. Prepaid reservations are required.
