Hidden Villa event celebrates spunky heroines

A storytelling program for children, “Let the Princess Rescue Herself: Spunky Heroines in the World’s Folk Tales,” is scheduled 1-2 p.m. Sunday in the Dana Building at Hidden Villa, 26870 Moody Road, Los Altos Hills.

Enid Davis – children’s librarian, storyteller, author and folklorist – will lead the free program, which will focus on folktales from around the world featuring spunky heroines. Davis has worked as a librarian for the Santa Clara County Library District and as library director for The Harker School in San Jose.

The program – recommended for children 4 and older – is a nod to Women’s Equality Day, which is Tuesday. The day commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment and calls attention to women’s continuing efforts to achieve full equality.

To register for the event and for more information, visit hiddenvilla.org or call 949-8650.
