In its continuing program of public events recognizing the heritage of Los Altos Hills, the Los Altos Hills History Committee has scheduled a presentation by Susan Packard Orr and Julie Packard, daughters of Lucile and David Packard, 1:30-4 p.m. Sept. 21 at Los Altos Hills Town Hall, 26379 W. Fremont Road.
The siblings, who grew up in Los Altos Hills before it became the Silicon Valley of today, will share their memories of their town, schools, friends and family life and how their family values and legacy influenced and helped shape the region and the world. They will discuss their current work, local projects, research and care of the environment and its worldwide effect.
Packard Orr is founder and CEO of Telosa Software Inc., founded in 1986 to provide fundraising and other software to nonprofit organizations.
She serves as a trustee for the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Packard Humanities Institute. She served for seven years on the board of Hewlett-Packard Co.
Packard is executive director of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and has served in that position since the aquarium opened in 1984.
She is chairwoman of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute Board of Directors and has served on the California Nature Conservancy, World Wildlife Fund and Pew Oceans Commission.
She remains involved in national efforts to improve ocean resource management.
