The fifth annual West Coast Disability Pride Parade & Festival is scheduled noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Mountain View.
Parade check-in will begin at 11 a.m. in Centennial Plaza, 701 W. Evelyn Ave. The parade route will travel from the plaza four blocks down Castro Street to Pioneer Park, 590 Castro St., near Mountain View City Hall, where the festival is located.
Organizers said the event is a celebration of “a natural and beautiful part of human diversity that people with disabilities can take pride in.” The event also commemorates the anniversary of passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The festival will feature a Disability, Veterans and Aging Resource Fair with vendors from groups and companies that serve seniors, children, veterans and those with disabilities. Entertainment will include interactive games and MDM Entertainment DJ Mike.
The Silicon Valley Independent Living Center and the Office of Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese organized this year’s event.
Admission is free and open to the public.
