Go "Figure" at new Gallery 9 exhibition

Gallery 9 in downtown Los Altos features the group show “The Figure” through Saturday. The exhibition includes artwork inspired by human, plant and animal forms.

The gallery’s next exhibition, “Flowers,” is scheduled to open Tuesday and run through July 26. It showcases the color photography of Charles Halleck, who has documented the Bay Area for 25 years.

A reception for Halleck is slated 5:30-7:30 p.m. July 10 at the gallery.

Gallery 9 is located at 143 Main St. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Viewpoints showcases ‘Sea and Sky’ in July

The Viewpoints Gallery exhibition “To the Lonely Sea and Sky” is scheduled to open Tuesday and run through July 28.

Barbara von Haunalter will display her coastal water paintings. She will be at the gallery 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 5 and 18.

Viewpoints Gallery is located at 315 State St., Los Altos. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

Library displays orchard paintings

The Los Altos main library has scheduled events in conjunction with the opening of its exhibition “POPs in the Orchard,” paintings by Peninsula Outdoor Painters of the Los Altos Civic Center Orchard, 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A ribbon cutting will be followed by a tour of the exhibition and a reception with food, wine and music by Park Avenue Jazz.

The exhibition runs through the end of July. Admission is free and open to the public.

The main library is located at 13 S. San Antonio Road. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Main Street Cafe hosts monthly exhibitions

Main Street Cafe & Books serves up art in addition to coffee.

Mel Thomson oversees the bookings and coordinates the artwork, which changes monthly.
