The Los Altos Village Association’s Downtown Los Altos Farmers’ Market is scheduled to open 4-8 p.m. Thursday on State Street between Second and Fourth streets. The market will operate Thursdays through Sept. 25.

Opening day will feature live music and a large maypole for dancing.

The weekly market includes local vegetables, fruits, flowers, baked goods, meats and specialty items. In addition to farm-fresh foods, the Thursday events offer dining options, opportunities to socialize, children’s activities and live entertainment.

Contributing to the festival-like atmosphere is the return of the children’s craft area and a community area that showcases cars and educational displays.

To promote synergy between the market and downtown merchants, the Los Altos Village Association will host local businesses at its market booth.

GreenTown Los Altos will once again offer valet parking for bicycles and other two-wheel transportation.
