Gatlang villagers in Nepal receive aid from the Rotary Club of Los Altos’ annual Fine Art in the Park fundraiser.

The Rotary Club of Los Altos’ 39th annual Fine Art in the Park show is scheduled 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 17 and 18 in Lincoln Park in Los Altos.

The event is considered one of the Bay Area’s premier open-air art shows, featuring original, juried works by some 170 artists.

In addition to the selection of fine art available for purchase, Fine Art in the Park will feature entertainment and a food court. The Rotary Club’s Young at Art competition will display winning entries from local youth in the Lincoln Park gazebo.

Proceeds from the event support scholarships for local high school and college students and a variety of nonprofit agencies, including the Mountain View RotaCare Clinic, Partners for New Generations, Child Advocates of Silicon Valley and Alta Vista High School.

The Fine Art in the Park show also funds international projects in more than 200 countries, such as solar technologies in Nepal, tele-medicine in the Dominican Republic, fruit trees and wells in Afghanistan, HIV/AIDS prevention in Africa, literacy in the Yucatan and job training in Indonesia.

To benefit Child AIDS Prevention in Nepal, Rotarians will sell raffle tickets for an iPad mini and a three-night stay at the Fairmont Hotel in Hawaii.

Donations to the Los Altos Rotary Endowment Fund are tax deductible.

Admission to Fine Art in the Park is free.

Lincoln Park is located along Foothill Expressway, across from the Main Street intersection.

Free parking and a shuttle to the event are available at Los Altos High School, 201 Almond Ave.
