Note: The Town Crier's March 19 print edition incorrectly stated the date of the event. It is stated correctly here.
Los Altos Forward has scheduled a discussion on “Making a Place to Build Community: A Multigenerational, Multiuse Community Center,” 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 26 at the Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.
The discussion is part of Los Altos Forward’s “Community Conversations” lecture series.
The event aims to address the question of what Los Altos can learn from other communities about building and programming for a multigenerational community center. The presentation will include ideas on best practices, feedback from El Camino Hospital on the needs of seniors and an overview of other senior center facilities.
Los Altos resident Anabel Pelham, a gerontology professor at San Francisco State University, will moderate the discussion. Guest speakers will include Lisa Hendrickson, president and CEO of Avenidas; Tyler Phillips of the Mountain View Senior Center; and Margaret Wilmer, director of community health and older adult services at El Camino Hospital.
Admission is free and open to the public.
