The Los Altos-founded 100 Women Charitable Foundation has scheduled its seventh annual Member Dinner and Grant Vote 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Crowne Plaza Cabaña Hotel, 4290 El Camino Real, Palo Alto.
The event brings together hundreds of members and their guests for an evening culminating in the disbursement of $165,000 to the foundation’s 2013 grant finalists: CASA of San Mateo County, Counseling and Support Services for Youth, Downtown Streets Team, Fresh Lifelines for Youth, the National Alliance on Mental Illness Santa Clara County and the Santa Clara Valley Blind Center.
The top three finalists selected by members will receive grants of $45,000, with the additional organizations receiving grants of $10,000.
In 2006, the 100 Women Charitable Foundation recruited 145 members and donated more than $30,000 to three local nonprofit agencies in its inaugural year. The organization has grown to include a membership base of 526 women who donated a collective $165,000 in 2013.
