Diebenkorn exhibition topic of library lectures

Fine-arts docents Mina Shea and Jim Kohn are scheduled to present two illustrated lectures on “Richard Diebenkorn: The Berkeley Years, 1953-1966,” the current exhibition at the de Young Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.

The lectures are slated 7:30 p.m. July 24 and July 31 in the Program Room of the Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.

The exhibition, which runs through Sept. 29, explores the dramatic shift from Diebenkorn’s vivid abstracts to his representational style, which played a leading role in the emergence of the Bay Area Figurative movement. The display features more than 120 paintings and drawings from museums and private collections.
