Garden tour bike ride
GreenTown Los Altos has scheduled another bicycle ride with a theme – the Native Garden Bike Tour. It is slated to start 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the Lazy Foot Chicken Ranch, 160 W. Portola Ave.. Mountain View Los Altos Girls Softball invites players ages 7-12 to try out for Summer Stars, its skill-development program. Tryouts are scheduled 1 p.m. Sunday at Stevenson Park in Mountain View. The season is slated to run June 1 through July 27. Participants practice twice a week and play games each weekend. Cost is $225. Registration is open for AYSO Region 43’s fall soccer season. The region serves boys and girls in grades K-12 who live in northern Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. Registration for the Sequoia Century Bicycle Ride – slated June 2 at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills – is underway. Organized by the Western Wheelers Bicycle Club, the event offers three routes through the mountains to the coast and back (100 and 200 kilometers and 100 miles) and another through Los Altos Hills, Saratoga and Portola Valley (50 miles). Summer camp sign-ups
Registration for Spartans Sports Camp’s summer program is under way. Directed by Doug Wiersig, the second-year camp is scheduled June 10 through Aug. 2 at Mountain View High. It offers seven sessions of multisport camps (for those entering grades 3-6) and strength and agility camps (grades 6-12), and two sessions of sport-specific camps in basketball, soccer and baseball. In addition, there are advanced camps in girls volleyball and girls water polo, and a boys lacrosse camp. Proceeds benefit Mountain View High athletics.
