Nearly four years after a fire damaged the building at 233 State St., Plates Bar & Grill is scheduled for a soft opening in time for the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival this weekend, replacing the former Satkar Indian Cuisine Restaurant.
Restaurant owner Christie West said the casual- and new-American-themed eatery would offer an abbreviated menu to accommodate festivalgoers who want to brunch and browse. Customers are also welcome to sit down and eat.
West is working with chef Brian Fernando to create a seasonally themed and unfussy lunch menu – salads, sandwiches and burgers that have special added taste twists – and feature a more upscale dinner experience at an affordable price.
West invites the public to drop in for food and libations for a taste test in anticipation of Plates’ grand opening, scheduled shortly after the festival weekend.
