Starbucks at 296 Main St. unveiled a new interior look to customers Jan. 10. The new layout added 15 indoor seats, while also improving floor circulation for customers waiting in line to order drinks. The renovation took five days to complete.

Starbucks customers were in for a bit of a surprise recently when they walked into the company’s location at 296 Main St.

That’s because the popular downtown location – which typically serves more than 800 customers daily – unveiled a new interior Jan. 10, complete with new countertops, flooring, additional indoor seating and improved customer circulation.

According to manager David Rodriguez, the store’s “top to bottom” interior renovation took just five days to complete, noting that its more practical layout meant the addition of 15 indoor seats.

Rodriguez said the initial reaction among customers has been “nothing but positive” to date.

“Every single thing has been a positive,” he said of the change. “We’ve had a very good reaction among our customers. Everyone seems to like it.”

Rodriguez hopes that the new look will also help the location become the go-to social space for downtown Los Altos.

“It’s reflective of our downtown,” he said. “We really want to be that social hub for residents. We want to meet that expectation.”
