The Palo Alto Players production of “Eurydice” is scheduled to close Sunday at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.

Sarah Ruhl’s “Eurydice” is a modern reinterpretation of a Greek myth about life, loss and difficult choices. After a tragic accident on her wedding day, Eurydice travels to the Underworld and is reunited with her father.

Christopher Tocco stars in TheatreWorks’ “2 Pianos 4 Hands,” which opened last week.

TheatreWorks’ production of “2 Pianos 4 Hands” is scheduled to run through Feb. 15 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

“Hands,” a semiautobiographical play co-written by Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt, features two grand pianos, two main actors and a gallery of pushy parents and eccentric teachers. The play centers on piano students Ted and Richard, who reach the edge of genius only to fall an octave short of stardom. The comic coming-of-age journey boasts music from Bach and Beethoven to Scott Joplin and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Bluegrass band The Tuttles is slated to perform with A.J. Lee and guest musician John Mailander 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Mountain View.

The Tuttles comprise siblings Molly (age 21), Sullivan (18) and Michael (16) of Palo Alto. The Northern California Bluegrass Society has twice named the group “Best Bluegrass Band.” Father Jack Tuttle – a longtime guitar teacher at Gryphon Stringed Instruments – taught his children how to play musical instruments.

West Bay Opera is slated to perform Mozart’s “The Abduction from the Seraglio” beginning next week in Palo Alto. A preview is scheduled Thursday.

The opera follows Belmonte as he travels from Austria to Turkey to rescue Konstanze, his betrothed, who was sold into Pasha Selim’s harem by pirates. In the end, love, wisdom and compassion save the day.

Pianist Frank Levy is scheduled to perform 3 p.m. Sunday at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center Schultz Cultural Arts Hall, 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto.

The concert, titled “Musical Journeys with Frank Levy: Animals, Seasons & Other Musical Fantasies,” will feature music inspired by animals, the stars, the moon and other whimsical elements, highlighting the transfiguration of nursery rhymes and lullabies of Ibert, Copland, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Beethoven and Rimsky-Korsakov.

The Pear Avenue Theatre presents Harold Pinter’s investigation of modern relationships, “Betrayal,” beginning this weekend in Mountain View. The production is scheduled to run through Feb. 22.

Written in 1978, the drama is a portrayal of a marriage in disintegration, but seen in reverse chronology. It chronicles the beginning and end of a seven-year affair.
