Peninsula Youth Theatre presents “Shrek The Musical” through Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.
The musical tells the story of Shrek, an ogre on a quest for some solitude. When a bunch of zany fairy-tale critters invade his peace and quiet, Shrek must rescue a princess while contending with a motor-mouthed donkey, a fire-breathing dragon and a host of other memorable characters.
Based on the Dreamworks movie, “Shrek The Musical” features songs such as “Big, Bright Beautiful World,” “Freak Flag” and “I’m a Believer.”
Meg Fischer directs.
Performances are scheduled 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $16-$20.
