The TheatreWorks production of “Marry Me a Little” is scheduled to run through June 29 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.
Conceived and developed by Craig Lucas and Norman Rene, the modern musical – which features a collection of rare Stephen Sondheim songs – weaves an intimate tale of love and possibility. In their walk-up apartments, just a floor apart, two lonely 20-somethings pass the night by expressing their poignant dreams and romantic fantasies.
Sharon Rietkerk and A.J. Shively star as Her and Him in the story of yearning, survival and solitude. The actors are TheatreWorks veterans.
Robert Kelley, the company’s founding artistic director, is at the helm of “Marry Me.” He is supported by Bruce McLeod (scenic design), Jill Bowers (costume design), Steven B. Mannshardt (lighting design) and Brendan Aanes (sound design).
Shows are slated 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 2 and/or 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 and/or 7 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $19-$73.
