A "Magical" performance Young violinist group plays at Eagle Theater

Magical Strings West has scheduled its spring concert 3-4 p.m. Saturday in the Eagle Theater at Los Altos High School, 201 Almond Ave.

More than 30 violinists, ages 4-14, are slated to perform music by Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Veracini and other famous composers. The program features more than 30 classical works.

The group includes residents of Los Altos and Mountain View.

Sue Mann serves as music director for Magical Strings West, founded in 2011. She has taught violin and directed violin performance groups for more than 30 years in places including the Bay Area, Chicago and Germany.

Magical Strings West last month performed with students from the Betty Haag Academy of Music at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and is slated to tour Germany this summer.

Refreshments will be available before and after the concert.

Admission is free, but tickets are required to guarantee seats. Donations will be accepted at the door and online.
