The Los Altos Stage Company’s production of “Harold and Maude” is scheduled to close Sunday at Bus Barn Theater, 97 Hillview Ave.
The love story is based on the 1971 cult film of the same name. Written by Colin Higgins, the dark romantic comedy chronicles the budding but unusual friendship. Harold is a morbid young man obsessed with death and dying, while octogenarian Maude is a bright and shining soul filled with a zest for life. Maude teaches Harold how to make the most of his time on earth.
Daniel P. Wilson directs the local production. The cast features Warren Wernick as Harold and Lillian Bogovich as Maude. Rounding out the cast are Kristin Brownstone (as Mrs. Helen Chasen), Gary Landis (Dr. Matthews), Ray D’Ambrosio (Father Finnegan), Clint Williams (Inspector Doppel/Gardener), Ken Leeds (Sgt. Doppel/Boss), Hannah Larson (Sylvie Gazel/Nancy Mersch/Sunshine Doré) and Jennifer Gregoire (The Maid, Marie).
Performances are slated 8 p.m. today through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $18-$34.
