Stepping Out

Los Altos Stage Company's 'Harold and Maude' continues

The Los Altos Stage Company’s production of “Harold and Maude” is set to run through May 4 at Bus Barn Theater, 97 Hillview Ave.

The play is based on the 1971 film. Written by Colin Higgins, the dark romantic comedy is about a budding but unusual friendship. Harold is a morbid young man obsessed with death, while octogenarian Maude is a shining soul with a zest for life. She teaches Harold how to make the most of his time on earth.

Daniel P. Wilson directs a cast featuring Warren Wernick (as Harold), Lillian Bogovich (Maude), Kristin Brownstone (Mrs. Helen Chasen), Gary Landis (Dr. Matthews), Ray D’Ambrosio (Father Finnegan), Clint Williams (Inspector Doppel/Gardener), Ken Leeds (Sgt. Doppel/Boss), Hannah Larson (Sylvie Gazel/Nancy Mersch/Sunshine Dore) and Jennifer Gregoire (Maid Marie).

Shows are scheduled 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.
