"Peter Pan" takes flight Saturday afternoon; runs through Nov. 17

“Peter Pan” is scheduled to run Saturday through Nov. 17 in Mountain View.

Peninsula Youth Theatre’s production of the family musical “Peter Pan” is scheduled to open Saturday and run through Nov. 17 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

The musical centers around Peter, Wendy, Michael, John and Tinker Bell as they soar to Neverland to battle the dastardly Captain Hook.

Based on the play by James M. Barrie, “Peter Pan” features lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and music by Mark Charlap.

Michael Champlin directs the PYT production, which stars several young actors from the area.

Performances are scheduled 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, 9:30 a.m. Nov. 14, 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and 1 p.m. Nov. 17.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $16 for seniors and children, with additional discounts for school-day performances. Children who dress as pirates will receive a piece of pirate’s treasure.
