TheatreWorks’ California premiere of “Warrior Class” is slated to close Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

The drama comes from Kenneth Lin, a writer for the Netflix series “House of Cards.”

“Warrior Class” centers on Julius Lee, a congressional candidate dubbed “The Republican Obama.” The son of Chinese immigrants, Julius is a decorated veteran and charismatic speaker. But when word of a youthful indiscretion threatens scandal, he discovers the dangerous intersection of politics and idealism.

Directed by Leslie Martinson, “Warrior Class” stars Pun Bandhu (as Julius), Robert Sicular (seasoned political adviser Nathan Berkshire) and Delia MacDougall (Julius’ former girlfriend, Holly Eames). Sicular makes his TheatreWorks debut.

The play runs approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes – including a 15-minute intermission – and contains adult language.

Performances are scheduled 7:30 p.m. today, 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $19-$65.
